The Neon Demon is a visually stylish horror homage from Nicolas Winding Refn, the visionary filmmaker behind DriveOnly God Forgives and Bronson. Elle Fanning (Maleficent) stars as a 16-year-old model swept up in a world of ruthless competition in a world that is, frankly, a bit demonic.

Critical reaction has been mixed, but nobody denies the incredible visual flair of Refn and cinematographer Natasha Braier (XXY), or the role of the pulsating score from Drive composer Cliff Martinez, former drummer for Red Hot Chili Peppers.

APTV’s Ryan J. Downey sat down with Fanning, Refn, Christina Hendricks (TV’s Mad Men), Keanu Reeves (The Matrix) and Bella Heathcote (next year’s Fifty Shades Darker) to talk about the film and Refn’s assertion that he’s actually a 16-year-old girl inside.
