10 Things You Didn't Know about Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!

In this episode of “10 Things You Didn't Know,” APTV talks to members of Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! and learn some lesser-known facts about their history.

For example, the band's name comes from a line in The Goonies, which Paul C. Wilson says is one of the band's favorite movies. As for the name of their album Pardon My French, the band's 2013 release, bassist Mathias Rigal says he got it from speaking to Miss May I's Justin Aufdenkampe on Warped Tour. Aufdenkampe explained the meaning behind the phrase to Rigal. “After that, I came back to the band,” says Rigal. “We decided to pick that phrase for the album.”

Singer Bert Poncet recalls when the band's van was stolen on their first tour. “That was a very tough time. We still managed to play the shows, and people were very, very kind,” he says. “We got a lot of donations from fans. It was tough, but still a very good experience.”

Guitarist Eric Poncet talks about studying law at university. “Now, we're touring and being homeless people on the road,” he says, laughing. “That's what we like, actually.”
