APMAs 2016: Jake Luhrs wins Artist Philanthropic for HeartSupport

Jake Luhrs of August Burns Red was awarded the Artist Philanthropic for organization HeartSupport at this year's 2016 APMAs. The award was presented by Garret Rapp of The Color Morale, Leigh Kakaty of Pop Evil and Daniel Wand of Capsize

The category also included the following nominees: This Wild Life – “National Breast Cancer Foundation,” The Wonder Years – “Puppies Behind Bars, After School All-Stars, the Herren Project, Futures Without Violence,” The Used – “Living The Dream,” Andrew McMahon – “Dear Jack Foundation,” and You Me At Six – “Passport Back to the Bars, PETA, The Ghost Inside Fundraiser.” 

Luhrs took the stage and delivered a heartfelt message to fans and supporters of Heartsupport. 

“The real winner, the real hero, the one that deserves this award are those people that come to HeartSupport, and are willing to share their deep and most private parts of their lives and tell their stories to encourage the person beside them,” Luhrs says. “I believe and the people at HeartSupport believe that love wins all.”
