Illuminate Me, “Voodoo Blues” (ft. the Color Morale’s Garret Rapp) lyric video premiere

After signing with Tragic Hero Records earlier this year, Tampa, Florida’s Illuminate Me are teaming up with AP to bring you the premiere of their new song, “Voodoo Blues.” The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album, I Have Become A Corpse, and features guest vocals from Garret Rapp of the Color Morale. Watch the song’s lyric video below, and let us know what you think.

“'Voodoo Blues,' featuring the very talented Garret Rapp, is a track about the spell that love can cast on you and how you feel when you realize how fake it’s all been,” says writer Barrett Stephens. “'An empty stomach and pissed off motives. Cut my goddamn wrists, I’ll give you the verdict. Play me off, play me off just like the rest you touch!' Those words pretty much sum up what encompasses this track, the instrumentals in this track really draw you in, bash your skull and leave you wanting more.”

“We have spent countless months, weeks, and hours on this album to make it close to perfect in our eyes,” says vocalist Christopher Murray. “It shows how much we have grown since our EP Crawlspace and how we've expanded the idea that this band is more than just a band. For us it's a movement and we hope you can join us to illuminate the world.”

The band’s new album will be out July 15 via Tragic Hero. (Pre-orders are on sale now.) If you missed it, watch their video for “Apples To Whoranges,” which features guest vocals from Jerry Roush of Glass Cloud.
