Eddie Hermida of Suicide Silence and Phil Bozeman of Whitechapel stopped by APTV to talk with correspondent Stevie James about the evolution of deathcore, how they've seen fans embrace it and how their own perceptions of the genre have changed.
The two frontman discuss vocal tenchniques as well as methods to protect their voices, which Hermida calls “the most fragile instrument on the stage.” They talk about the music that they listen to, and how it's not what you might assume. “I listen to metal very rarely,” says Bozeman before sharing his love of hip-hop. And of course they touch on their recent Straight Outta Hell tour with Despised Icon, Carnifex and Oceano.
