Architects unleash anthemic new single "Meteor"—listen

We are just a few weeks away from the release of Architects‘ highly-anticipated new album For Those That Wish To Exist. As listeners continue to count down the days until the LP’s arrival, Architects are offering another taste of their new music this week.

The band have unleashed their anthemic new single “Meteor” which further explores the themes of our planet and environment found on For Those That Wish To Exist.

So far, Architects have offered quite a few previews of their forthcoming album. Back in October, they dropped their surprise new song “Animals,” which highlights the existential crises we deal with in life. Then, in December, they returned with a post-apocalyptic video for “Black Lungs.” More recently, they unleashed an atmospheric visual for “Dead Butterflies,” which was filmed at London’s historic Royal Albert Hall.

Now, Architects have released their fourth new song from For Those That Wish To Exist called “Meteor.” The punchy new single offers a further look into Architects’ highly-anticipated full-length album. As well, according to vocalist Sam Carter, “Meteor” shows just how much Architects pushed themselves creatively on this new LP.

“Thank you for every lovely comment about Meteor it honestly means the world to us. We pushed ourselves so much creatively on this album and I love seeing you connect with the singles so much!”

“Meteor” further tackles the main themes found on For Those That Wish To Exist. The self-produced LP includes 15 tracks that address what it means to exist while reflecting on the human condition. Listeners can expect to hear Architects’ nostalgic post-hardcore sounds infused with orchestral and electronic elements like you’ve never heard before on this new album.

Dan Searle recently explained that this new release is all about sustainability and what we can do to help our planet now.

“This album was me looking at our inability to change to a way of life that would sustain the human race and save the planet,” Searle said. “I wanted to look in the mirror and ask ourselves the question of what are we going to do, as opposed to trying to point the finger at politicians. Change has to start on a personal level. The world has developed a culture of wanting someone else to deal with it when we need to take our own responsibility. It has to start there.”

For Those That Wish To Exist marks Architects’ first full-length release since 2018’s Holy Hell, their first release following the death of Tom Searle. As well, the new album also includes collaborations with Parkway Drive‘s Winston McCall, Royal Blood‘s Mike Kerr and Biffy Clyro‘s Simon Neil.

For Those That Wish To Exist officially arrives on Feb. 26 via Epitaph Records.
