Zao begin work on new record

Legendary Christian metalcore band Zao have announced the follow-up to their 2006 album, The Fear Is What Keeps Us Here.

The band is recording the effort with As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis and producer Daniel Castleman. Guitarist Scott Mellinger commented:

We simply can not wait for everyone to hear these new songs," says longtime guitarist Mellinger. "We have not been on the road since the Demon Hunter and Throwdown tours in 2006, which has given us plenty of time to get our wits about us and to really concentrate on creating the best batch of material we possibly can."

The band were recently highlighted in AP 242 for their landmark 1998 record, Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest. The new album is due out sometime in 2009 courtesy of Ferret.
