Holy Roman Empire break up

Holy Roman Empire have broken up. The band actually posted the news over a month ago to seemingly little notice or fanfare. The breakup itself took place a few months prior to the announcement.

The band didn’t quite explain its reasons in the message.

"I’m sure most of you have guessed already, whether by our lack of activity or word of mouth, HRE has "officially" called it quits as of a few months ago or so.

We want to take this time to thank each and every one of you for your love and support while the Empire grew as it did. We had a great time, and loved meeting and hanging out with every single one of you!"

The female-fronted Chicago supergroup featured former members of Rise Against, Shai Hulud, the Hope Conspiracy, Suicide File, the Killing Tree and Longdistancerunner. They released one EP, 2005’s Lost In Soundscapes, and one full-length, 2007’s The Longue Durée, both on HeWhoCorrupts Inc. They were even rumored to be in talks with a noted hardcore label shortly after Durée‘s release.
