United Nations set to play first show

It seems as though screamo supergroup United Nations (Thursday, Glassjaw, Converge, the Number Twelve Looks Like You) will be playing their first show early next year.

An event dubbed Demand In D.C.: Applauding The Empowerment Of People Thru Art/Photo/Film/Music will take place on Inauguration Day, which is January 20th, 2009. It’ll be at The Black Cat in Washington, D.C., and while no further elaboration has been made on the performances, it seems United Nations will play a set at the venue, along with Anti-Flag, the A.K.A.s and Ruiner.

The event is described as "a celebration of people’s desire, will, and actions evoking change in our lives and the direction of the world."

It will also feature participating artists like HorseBites, Charles Stanley Doll IV, the A.K.A.s’ Mike Ski, Mitch Clem, Erik Davidson, David S. Holloway, Kencredible and Ben Lande among others.

The full lineup will be announced on January 2nd, 2009.

The actual inaugurate for Inauguration Day, by the way, will be determined by tomorrow’s U.S. presidential election.
