Envy On The Coast drummer calls it quits

Envy on the Coast drummer and co-founder, Dan Gluszak, has announced his departure from the band.

EOTC issued the following statement via Myspace:

Throughout the relatively short history of our band we have experienced a lot of milestones and we’ve been very fortunate to be able to share them all with you, in one medium or another. At the risk of over-explaining an impossibly complex and deeply personal issue, I’ll try to be as brief as possible. We, as a band, have decided to part ways with our drummer, Dan. I can’t overstate how much it pains me and the rest of the guys to have to announce the departure of one of our founding members but at the end of the day, we truly believe it is in the best interest of all parties involved to go our separate ways. We wish Dan all the future successes he deserves and hope you all will support whatever it is that he decides to do with his talent. Our new record is still moving ahead as planned and we plan to be out on the road to share it with you guys when it’s done. We thank you all in advance for your patience and understanding during this emotionally demanding period in our lives.

Dan explains in a separate Myspace blog that he arrived at this decision based on "an overwhelmingly complex series of issues between myself and [the band] over a long period of time." However, this is not the end of his music career.

EOTC are currently in the process of writing the follow-up to 2007’s Lucy Gray on Photo Finish. The new record, one of AP’s Most Anticipated 2009, is expected to released this year.
