Is Ariana Grande channeling ‘Mean Girls’ for “thank u, next” video?
Ariana Grande has been taking the internet by storm since releasing an ode to her exes titled “thank u, next” earlier this month.
The track just solidified its second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The week prior was Grande’s first track to grab the top spot. It’s been quite a topic of conversation, and now, she’s taking to Instagram to recreate several iconic rom-coms and many think it could be teasing the track’s video.

Yesterday, the singer thanked her fans for getting the song to platinum status. The clip also states, “Don’t worry…you’re still getting a video.”
The imagery uses the single’s artwork, which since its initial release, many have pointed out looks suspiciously like the Mean Girls burn book.

As if that alone wasn’t enough, Grande then began posting images with friends. While seemingly harmless, she captioned them with various spins on quotes from the cult classic.
“Yeah, but she’s my FIRST cousin.”
“Would u like us to assign someone to butter your muffin?”
“‘I’m on an all carb diet GOD KAREN U ARE SO STooPID.”
While the single art and this series of images seem to point to Grande recreating Mean Girls for her upcoming video, the singer herself implies it won’t be the only film.
Following the round of Plastics-inspired photos yesterday, she posted a series of Legally Blonde-like snaps today. One image had Grande posing with Jennifer Coolidge who plays Elle Woods’ friend in the film.
Grande then took to her Instagram story to state 13 Going On 30 was the third film inspiring her looks. However, it looks like a fourth and final movie will be revealed tomorrow.
