When “thank u, next” first dropped, many pointed out the similarities between the single art and Mean Girls’ legendary Burn Book.

Soon after, Grande posted teasers that made many believe the cult classic would be the inspiration behind the song’s video. However, she also teased inspiration from Legally Blonde, 13 Going On 30 and Bring It On.

A few days later, Grande channeled Regina George, posing in a blonde wig with her own Burn Book.

The following day, Grande revealed that Aaron Samuels himself (aka actor Jonathan Bennett) would be reprising his role for the music video.

Bennett appeared in the video trailer Grande posted this week. He’s joined by another Mean Girls vet Bethany Byrd as well as Troye Sivan.

While Byrd doesn’t deliver her iconic army pants and flip flops line, they still share some myths about the queen herself, Ariana Grande.

Earlier today, Grande revealed the five-minute video might have a director’s cut given how much content they captured.

“A lil over five minutes. We couldn’t fit all of the setups in, so we’re gonna have to get u a directors cut at some point or a blooper reel or sum.”

Now, after weeks of teasers, the full “thank u, next” video is finally here, hitting on all of the aforementioned rom-coms and ushering in an unexpected cameo for the role of Regina’s mom. Check it out below.
