Following the death of influential rapper Mac Miller, Ariana Grande took to social media to share her thoughts in regards to her late ex-boyfriend.

On Sept. 7, rapper Mac Miller passed away from a drug overdose. Aside from sharing a touching black and white photo, sans caption, of the late rapper on Instagram last week, Grande has rightfully remained pretty quiet about the tragedy.

Grande has been met with a large amount of backlash concerning Miller’s death on various social media platforms. However, today Grande broke her silence to share a heartfelt home video of Miller on Instagram. Accompanying the video is a tear-jerking caption.
“I adored you from the day I met you when I was 19 and I always will,” Grande says. “I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. We talked about this. So many times.”
Grande went on to express her conflicting emotions of anger, grief and sorrow.
“I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away,” Grande says in the post. “I really wanted to.”

The couple split in May 2018. Following frequent criticisms of their break-up, Grande took to Twitter to say that shaming women for leaving toxic relationships was a harmful tactic.
