The band will be celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Constellations one more time at the Christmas Burns Red. You can see the initial announcement below.

Now, they’ve announced most of the lineup with a very special guest still yet to be announced. Along with August Burns Red, Miss May I, Like Moths To Flames, Currents, Hawk and Wither Away will perform at the show.

“ABR’s hometown Christmas show has been an annual tradition since 2006 and it’s one that we look forward to every year,” the band said in a statement. “This year we decided to take it to a bigger stage and invite a bunch of our friends to join us. With the help of CI Productions, we look forward to making the Christmas Burns Red festival our new tradition. We can’t wait to play the full Constellations set in our hometown one last time and are excited to dig deep into our collection of holiday tunes.”

The day before the show, August Burns Red will have a kick-off party at Chameleon Club  which will feature a DJ set from guitarist JB Brubaker.

August Burns Red have started working on their eighth full-length studio album and teased fans about when they’ll get to hear it

Earlier this summer, the band’s vocalist Jake Luhrs talked a bit about new music they were working on, but no album was confirmed.

“We’ve been working pretty hard on writing,” Luhrs said. “We’re definitely excited about the direction and the growth that August Burns Red is going. We’re going to still keep it real aggressive and heavy, but I think there’s a lot of cool, different dynamics.”

“The direction that the band is going as far as songwriters is really kind of cool, and I think it’s going to be a little bit more the ability to digest the music – not saying it’s going to get any more simplified per se, but it’s going to be easier for the listener to really grasp what’s going on,” he continued.

He then went on to explain what he meant by that to give some insight as to what it will sound like.

“A lot of times on previous albums, we’ve decided to go off to a different place where it’s very progressive and really outside the box,” he said.  “We’ve played with that a little bit, and it’s really cool, because if you listen to all the albums … they’re not the same. This record, you can see the growth and see the changes. I think it’s really important for us to continue to do that.”

Now, we have confirmation that they’re working on the album. You can see their posts below.

The band’s last full-length album was 2017’s Phantom Anthem, but they have put out a remastered version of their 2009 record Constellations this summer. You can listen to both of those below.
