Avenged Sevenfold are taking on the coronavirus pandemic in an extremely novel way. The band announced on Twitter that they are offering free band merchandise. All you have to do is pledge to stay at home, self-quarantined, for a week.

The band are teaming up with designer Warren Lotas to create exclusive merchandise for this interesting time in history. The rules are simple: Fans wanting the gear pledge to stay at home for seven days. The Avenged Sevenfold team checks in with people by reaching out at a random time (via Instagram stories), requesting them to post a selfie with a special "phrase of the day" written on a piece of paper. Fans then post the image to a special webpage within 30 minutes of receiving the phrase. If you miss a day, it's not a problem: You start at zero until you reach seven days. Piece of cake.

It's a pretty amazing plan. Avenged Sevenfold make a bold statement and let their fans be part of it. The Warren Lotas designs are nothing but cool AF and the fans are flattening the exposure curve. As far as what the future holds, Avenged Sevenfold vs the coronavirus seems like the most original win-win situation the music scene has come up with yet.
