Their latest single is what fans have grown to love about the longtime group, as it’s full of dark intensity and sprawls over six minutes, full of thrilling riffs. According to a press release, it encompasses the sound of the upcoming album, which is said to be “inspired by Albert Camus’ philosophical opus The Stranger” with lyrics “rooted in existentialism and absurdism.”

In addition to announcing Life Is But a Dream, Avenged Sevenfold shared they’ll be taking the album live with two special shows this summer, one in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum June 9 and one at in New York City at Madison Square Garden June 23. Both shows, which mark their first performances in LA and NYC proper in well over a decade, go on sale this Friday, March 17 here.
