Avenged Sevenfold are embracing the title of their new album The Stage with an exciting partnership on their upcoming UK and European tour. Per Metal Hammer, M Shadows revealed that the band are pairing up with the production team from Cirque du Soleil, who will handle the theatrics for the group’s on-stage presentation.

“A lot of bands live, breathe and die the 2016 metal scene, but we just live in our own world and try to do things different than everyone else,” Shadows says.

The world-renown Cirque du Soleil is the largest theatrical producer in the world, and is known for its elaborate set designs, costumes, and thematic storylines.

Shadows even stated that A7X is thinking about altering entire venues in hopes of creating the ideal experience for a kick-ass show. The band will also be taking on an abnormal tour format, and rather than going on one big tour, they will be alternating between playing shows every two weeks.

Shadows went on further: “The production that's being built is different for us, different for anyone I've ever seen, the people we've hired don't do tours, they do Cirque du Soleil,” he says. “This is gonna be drawn out into different types of touring, we're not going on tour for six months, it'll be two weeks on, two weeks off. It'll be a longer cycle but we're gonna roll with the punches.”

The dates begin on January 10 in Glasgow, UK, and end on March 10 in Oslo, Norway. You can see a full list of the upcoming tour stops below.

“I don't ever feel like we fit in. We're going to be whatever we feel is right, and if it changes the industry, then great,” Shadows tells Metal Hammer.

The band also played a special live show that was a streamable, 3D/360 degree virtual reality concert in which they performed atop the roof of their new record company, Capitol Records. The band was highlighting their newest record, which they surprised dropped just afterwards.

If these shows are anything like we can imagine, it will bring the excitement of The Stage to the next level. We can’t wait to see what Avenged Sevenfold have in store for their entire supporting tour in honor of their latest release.
