In a post to her social media profiles, Avril Lavigne canceled all 12 of her upcoming shows in Asia. The dates would have taken place in China, Japan, the Philippines and Taiwan. She expressed great remorse for the cancelations but cited health concerns as the main priority.

I am so sad to announce that we are unable to tour the Asian markets due to the continuous outbreak of the coronavirus. My band, crew and I have been working so hard to bring this tour worldwide and are completely bummed out. Please everybody take care of yourselves and stay healthy. You’re in my thoughts and prayers and we are hoping to announce rescheduled shows soon.

Avril Lavigne’s struggles with Lyme disease put her in an especially compromised state. She was diagnosed with it back in 2014, but has been touring her new album Head Above Water since 2019. Following the U.S. run of dates, Avril Lavigne spoke about how excited she was to get back out there.

“We had the most amazing time performing on the U.S. Head Above Water Tour!” Avril said in a release. “I can’t believe how quickly it went by. Seeing all your faces each night and feeling your energy was exactly what I needed. I truly missed being up onstage, singing with you and this has brought me so much happiness which is why I’m even more excited to announce that I’ll be taking the Head Above Water Tour worldwide next year with dates in Europe, Japan, China and Southeast Asia!”

Set It Off also took to their social media accounts to share similar sentiments regarding their cancelations.

Due to unforeseen circumstances and for everyone’s safety, our Asia headlining shows & our shows with Jimmy Eat World will not be taking place this March. Were so sorry and will be doing our best to come back as soon as possible. Refunds will be made at the point of purchase.

Set It Off just finished their headlining tour with Capstan. They’ve dropped a couple of songs from their After Midnight EP. “One Single Second” is their most recent after previously revealing “So Predictable” and “Catch Me If You Can.”
