Avril Lavigne and YUNGBLUD team up for a nostalgia-fueled duet on “I'm A Mess”

Avril Lavigne has released a new track “I’m A Mess” featuring Britain’s favorite misfit YUNGBLUD. Additionally, the new song comes with a nostalgia-fueled music video directed by P Tracy and filmed in both London and Los Angeles.

On “I’m A Mess,” Lavigne channels her innate ability to pen heartfelt and evocative ballads, which will take you on a self-reflective journey. The new track, which was co-written by Lavigne, Travis Barker, John Feldmann and YUNGBLUD, feels like a subtle throwback to Lavigne’s beloved 2002 hit “I’m With You.” Lavigne and YUNGBLUD offer a stunning duet that showcases the power of their distinctive voices and styles, coupled with expertly crafted harmonies, string sections, crashing guitars and inventive drum parts.

In the video for “I’m A Mess,” Lavigne skateboards near the oceanside in Los Angeles, which is juxtaposed with dark and dreary shots of YUNGBLUD walking through London on a rainy day. As the song builds, Lavigne and YUNGBLUD eventually come together to perform a high-intensity climax and final chorus to the song.

Lavigne is certainly riding a high at the moment with the recent release of her chart-topping seventh studio album Love Sux, as well as performing on all three dates of When We Were Young Festival. Additionally, Lavigne is currently on a world tour in support of her new album, with tickets available here
