Yesterday, Avril posted this indistinguishable photo on social media:
Beginning production this week for the album. Wahoo. Pouring my heart & soul into writing these new songs for you guys. Can't wait !!!! pic.twitter.com/M8vBnkP1D4
— Avril Lavigne (@AvrilLavigne) May 16, 2017
And although you can tell it’s Avril (or as theorists say, Melissa), the internet responded with as much enthusiasm as the original theory post itself.
@AvrilLavigne Avril would never say “wahoo”, Melissa

The theory, explained in massive detail by Twitter user @Givenchyass, states that Lavigne died in 2003, and it’s her look-alike that has been living in her place since then. Her tweet thread shares all the “peculiar signs,” specifically regarding her change in appearance that just seems off. Check out the response to the original theory here.
Now we’ll just wait to see if Avril (or Melissa?) responds to the rumors.
