A Ways Away

Tara Jane ONeil doesn't so much write songs as she paints moods with music. A Ways Away is ONeil's sixth full-length as a solo artist (she's played with so many bands it's impractical to list them all, but start with Rodan, Retsin, Papa M and Ida). The album continues the sultry, sticky pattern she's perfected over the years. It's the ideal music for lounging around on a rainy morning, or for slowly making love on a hot night in the breeze from an open window. There's nothing on A Ways Away to shock the listener out of the daydream ONeil creates with her songs, and that's for the best. A Ways Away casts a spell you won't want to break.
