Is Awsten Knight of Waterparks actually a doctor now?
Waterparks frontman Awsten Knight is celebrating an unexpected achievement — getting his Ph.D.
Knight, along with his friend/YouTuber Elijah Daniel, posted photos sporting green caps and gowns. They’re also holding certificates from the State University of Sheffield to celebrate obtaining their Ph.Ds.

“WE’RE OFFICIALLY GRADUATES! TOURING DIDN’T STOP ME FROM GETTING MY PHD SO NOTHING CAN STOP YOU FROM DOING ANYTHING EXCEPT TELEPORTATION, U JUST CANNOT DO THAT” Knight wrote on Instagram with the photos.
Daniel also posted a photo on his Twitter of the big accomplishment.

Given Knight’s busy schedule, we’re not entirely certain when he found the time to study for his PhD. He’s been writing and recording the highly-anticipated FANDOM. He also wrote his first book You’d Be Paranoid Too (If Everyone Was Out To Get You) and released resERECTION with Daniel aka LIL PHAG to raise money for LA LGBT Center.
The degrees in question are supposedly from the State University of Sheffield, but upon investigation, it appears that the university may be located in Ohio under the name Sheffield State University. According to the website that sports the same logo as Knight’s degree, you can literally buy a doctorate degree from Sheffield. However, Knight checked in to Burbank, CA on his Instagram post, so the entire thing is a bit confusing.

Upon a quick Google search, multiple blogs and websites including a special report titled “Degree of Deception” show proof that you can indeed purchase a doctorate degree from the university. However, the staff and alumni photos are ripped from various stock image websites and university pages.
While we’re pretty shocked to hear that Knight’s a doctor now (allegedly), we congratulate him on the huge success, even if he did just buy the certificate for decorative purposes and bragging rights.
