Axl Rose not happy Donald Trump's using Guns N' Roses' songs at rallies

More musicians are coming forward to voice their concerns of having President Trump use of their music at his rallies, without their permission to do so.

The latest people to voice their concern is Rihanna and Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose.

As Metal Injection reports, the president has been using Guns N’ Roses’ classic song,  “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” during his rallies, to which the frontman has made it clear he isn’t a fan of.

While he has specified he doesn’t take any issue of Trump supporters listening to their music,  he does, however, take issue with Trump using their music during a rally without the band’s permission.

As Variety points out, the president is currently using a blanket license, which are licenses issued by venues that allow them to have permission to use music from any musician’s catalogue, whether they agree to it or not.

With Trump’s use of this license, there’s little that artists can do in order to fight against venues to stop using their music at the president’s rallies.

Rose may not have total access to stop Trump for using the band’s music, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the power to go on Twitter to share his frustrations on the matter, and that’s just what he did.

Yesterday, Nov. 4, Rose took to Twitter to go on a series of rants about the use of GNR’s song being played.

Read some of Rose’s tweets below:

“Just so ya know… GNR like a lot of artists opposed to the unauthorized use of their music at political events has formally requested [are] music not [to] be used at Trump rallies or Trump associated events.”

“Unfortunately, the Trump campaign is using loopholes in the various venues’ blanket performance licenses which were not intended for such craven political purposes, without the songwriters’ consent. Can [you] say ‘shitbags?!'”

“Personally, I kinda liked the irony of Trump supporters listening to a bunch of anti-Trump music at his rallies but I don’t imagine a lot of ‘em really get that or care.”

“And when [your] phone’s blowin’ up cuz peeps [are] seein’/hearin’ Sweet Child on the news at a rally… as a band we felt we should clarify [are] position. Peace!”

As we’ve previously noted, Rose and company aren’t the only artists that aren’t happy with their songs being used during the president’s rallies.

Rihanna also slammed the president for his use of playing her music without consent, saying: “Not for much longer…me nor my people would ever be at or around one of those tragic rallies”
