Hear Beabadoobee put a grungey spin on Vanessa Carlton's 'A Thousand Miles'

Cue the nostalgia: Beabadoobee recently stopped by BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge and delivered a ’90s grunge cover of Vanessa Carlton‘s 2002 pop hit “A Thousand Miles.” Beabadoobee’s soft vocals, along with raucous guitar riffs, put a fuzzy twist on the piano ballad. During her time at the studio, Beabadoobee also performed bossa nova-tinged track “The Perfect Pair” from her latest album Beatopia, which was released in July.

In an interview with AP, Bea Kristi described her sophomore album as “very 2006.”
“It’s a lot of different vibes. There’s not one song that sounds the same as the others. I’ve been really getting into a band called Stars, and I’ve always loved Stereolab as well…I feel like this new album is what I am meant to sound like,” she said.

Beabadoobee is currently on tour in the UK but will head to the U.S. for a run of shows later this month before wrapping Dec. 4.
