Beach Goons lose their shoes in new “Hunny Bunnies” video—watch

Beach Goons are teaming up with AP to premiere their sweet new video for “Hunny Bunnies.”

The song comes hot off the surf-punk trio’s second album, hoodratscumbags, which dropped last year.

In a set full of interesting items that don’t really seem to fit together, the shoeless rockers casually jam in front of simply colored sets, sporting some of these choice accessories throughout the video.

Lead vocalist and guitarist Pablo Cervantez based the video’s color scheme on his own tastes as a designer, leaning heavily on primary colors.

“I had a ton of influences for the video, but I honestly think the idea came from the way I make my graphic design pieces,” Cervantez says.

Although this is found on the band’s second release, “Hunny Bunnies” has been on the table for Beach Goons since the early stages as a group.

“‘Hunny Bunnies’ is a pretty old song,” Cervantez says. “I wrote that when I was about 15 or 16, and I brought it to a jam session with the original band members. I just think it’s important to me personally because it’s one of the first songs I wrote for Beach Goons.”

Although the lyrics of “Hunny Bunnies” are directed at another person in the fashion of a love song, Cervantez likes to keep the meaning subjective.

“I really don’t like narrowing down the meaning of the song by explaining it, so I leave it up for interpretation,” Cervantez says. “It’s whatever you want it to be.”
