Beastie Boys' albums return to Billboard chart after MCA's death

Several Beastie Boys' albums returned to the Billboard 200 this past week after the passing of Adam Yauch at age 47. The trio's 1986 debut Licensed To Ill charted highest at 18, while the majority of the band's discography fell elsewhere in the 200, as seen below:

  • Solid Gold Hits (51)
  • Paul's Boutique (56)
  • Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 (107)
  • Ill Communication (109)
  • Check Your Head (124)
  • The Sounds Of Science (141)

BBC News also reports that the band's Spotify stats were way up, increasing 17-fold after Yauch's death. The report adds that the Billboard numbers are for the first two days after Yauch's death and that numbers are projected to be higher in next week's charts.
