Beauty School Dropout recreate “Stacy’s Mom” in “beautiful waste” video

Beauty School Dropout were recently named one of our rising artists of the month. Today, the LA rock trio are back with a music video for “beautiful waste,” which AP is exclusively premiering.

The track comes from the band’s sophomore album, READY TO EAT, arriving Oct. 13 via Verswire. The bouncy cut is catchy as hell, as frontman Colie Hutzler sings of a relationship that’s doomed to fail. With backing from Pete Wentz and Mark Hoppus (who signed the band and stars in one of their early videos), Beauty School Dropout are on a fast-moving ascent.

In the accompanying visual, Hutzler falls for his bandmate’s mom. When he finds out, the vocalist is thrown into the pool and wakes up in a church, where he jams out with the rest of the band. (Don’t worry, he’s resuscitated by the end.) “We wanted to create the modern Stacy’s Mom story,” the band say. “But in this case, Stacy gets pissed off.”
