“In Germany 2004, I watched a package come from California to New York, to [the] UK, to somewhere else, and then it landed in Germany,” Welch says.

“I could get arrested for stuff like that … you don't send drugs overseas,” he continues. “I got my daughter at home, I'm risking everything in my life.”

Welch added that these events occurred when he was at his lowest point—even suicidal. “It was my gutter moment,” he says.

In 2005, Welch quit Korn to focus on a path of sobriety. At this time, the guitarist also became a born-again Christian. Fast forward to 2013, and Welch reunited with Korn.

Chronicling his experiences with drug addition and newfound faith, Welch released his memoir, With My Eyes Wide Open: Miracles and Mistakes on My Way Back to Korn, in May.

The episode of Allegedly featuring Welch airs Tuesday.
