The feuding brothers of Oasis, Liam and Noel Gallagher may never reunite their popular Britpop powerhouse, but it's their enduring catalog that continues to inspire countless bands and artists. With Aug. 20 marking the 20th anniversary of the outfit's third effort, Be Here Now, and Liam Gallagher's first-ever solo album just around the corner (As You Were—out Oct. 6), we’ve rounded up some of the best Oasis covers that have emerged from our scene and beyond.

Truly standing on the shoulders of giants, the performances listed here speak to the fortitude of the Gallagher clan's near-universally beloved mid-'90s work. So slip inside the eye of your mind and don't look back in anger at these 10 awesome Oasis covers.

The Pretty Reckless “Champagne Supernova”

The Pretty Reckless do a pretty cool rendition of the closing cut (and seven-minute hit single) on 1995's (What's The Story) Morning Glory? with their take on “Champagne Supernova.” Watch all the way to the end as the arrangement subtly morphs into a cover of the Beatles' classic “Dear Prudence,” a testament to the Reckless' instrumental dexterity and Oasis' uncanny ability to channel the Fab Four at all times.

Mat Kerekes (Citizen) “Stand By Me”

Nearly every Oasis cover out there is taken from Morning Glory or the band's 1994 debut album, Definitely Maybe, but Citizen vocalist and solo artist Mat Kerekes one-ups the everyday emulators with this beautifully somber send-up of Be Here Now's “Stand By Me”—the saddest song ever written about getting food poisoning: “Made a meal and threw it up on Sunday/I've got a lot of things to learn.”

Sum 41 “Morning Glory”

Once upon a time, Sum 41 whipped out a live, acoustic version of Oasis' “Morning Glory” for an appearance on Yahoo! Music. Thanks to the magic of YouTube, we can still get down to this no-frills cover jam. “I don’t normally do cover songs,” frontman Deryck Whibley says during the song's introduction, “and I don’t normally do acoustic cover songs, but this band’s one of my favorite bands.”

Cartel “Wonderwall”

Another pop-punk throwback, here's Cartel doing their thing on what is probably Oasis' most-covered hit. (Indeed, even Radiohead did a tongue-in-cheek version!) The tune's taken from Fearless Records' inimitable Punk Goes… series, the Georgia-based band's “Wonderwall” appearing on the 2006 Punk Goes '90s compilation. What's a wonderwall, anyway?

The Killers “Don't Look Back In Anger”

Around the time of their 2012 album Battle Born, the Killers showed their love for the Gallaghers by frequently busting out Morning Glory's “Don't Look Back In Anger” during live sets. The original version, released in 1996, was the first Oasis single with Noel on lead vocals instead of Liam.

Machine Gun Kelly “Wonderwall”

More “Wonderwall,” please! We've all borne witness to AP #345 cover star Machine Gun Kelly's creative transformation, and the dude just keeps on killing it at any genre he gets his hands on. (Limp Bizkit's “Break Stuff,” anybody?) Have a listen to MGK's live cover of “Wonderwall”—he even looks like Liam Gallagher while belting out the timeless tune!

Weezer “Morning Glory”

On tour in 2008, Weezer often trotted out their rendition of “Morning Glory.” Perhaps the song's '08 inclusion was a subtle cover-song anniversary indicator from the band: In 1998, Rivers Cuomo and company played an entire set of early Oasis covers at a “secret” show in Santa Barbara, California, under the name Goat Punishment.

Through The Darkness “Wonderwall”

Iowan hard-rockers Through The Darkness get props for their Punk Goes Pop-style cover of “Wonderwall.” This is probably the most divergent interpretation of the bunch: Imagine the Oasis hit rendered in the alt-rock style of a band like Stone Sour or maybe Seether. Now check it out!

Liam Gallagher & Coldplay “Live Forever”

Oasis covering Oasis? Well, kinda. Liam Gallagher teamed up with Coldplay at the One Love Manchester concert in June for a stirring version of Definitely Maybe's “Live Forever.” The event benefitted victims of the tragic Manchester Arena bombing that occurred earlier this year.

Portugal. The Man “Don't Look Back In Anger”

It wouldn't feel right if we didn’t include this excellent cover from the group who are probably the mainstream-crossover story of the year, Portugal. The Man. (Seriously, millions are probably singing along to “Feel It Still” as we type this.) Anybody remember when their singer was in the Rise Records screamo band Anatomy Of A Ghost? No? Alright, then.

What other covers should we add to the list? Sound off in the comments.
