More on Beyoncé

Last year, Beyoncé surprise dropped what would mark her sixth album, Lemonade. The collab-packed release featured the Weeknd, James Blake, Kendrick Lamar and—most surprisingly—Jack White.

The 12-song collection was accompanied by a 65-minute film of the same name. Once it finished airing on HBO, the singer debuted surprised fans with the album release that included the White matchup, “Don’t Hurt Yourself”.

Earlier this year, Beyoncé was nominated for nine Grammy Awards. Lemonade as a whole was nominated for Album of the Year, Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Music Film. First single “Formation” was also nominated for three awards including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Music Video.

The vocalist earned nominations for three other singles that year including Best Pop Solo Performance (“Hold Up”) and Best Rap/Sung Performance for joining husband Jay-Z on “Family Feud.”

However, thanks to her collab with White, the most surprising nod of the evening was for Best Rock Performance. That year, she was nominated alongside Alabama Shakes, Disturbed, twenty one pilots and David Bowie, the latter of whom posthumously won with “Blackstar.”
