Billie Eilish announces debut album with new song

Billie Eilish fans have been anxiously waiting for new music. Yesterday, the singer dropped a hint and then confirmation that the wait is almost over.

Earlier this week, she dropped a mysterious clip that sent fans into a frenzy. She then followed it up with the news of her debut album and promise of a new song today. Now, “bury a friend” is finally here along with an intense new video.

Following an album update, she then posted a 16-second video of her singing and her head being pushed and grabbed by gloved hands, which ends with the question, “When we all fall asleep, where do we go?”

To add to the mystery of it all, the young artist also deleted all of the tweets preceding the one with the teaser.

Eilish then confirmed it was a new track, but that wasn’t all. The inquiry at the end of the original teaser is her debut album’s title, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP WHERE DO WE GO?

Eilish and brother FINNEAS joined forces in writing, producing and recording the entire record in their childhood home in Highland Park, Los Angeles after spending days writing on the road throughout 2018.

Eilish reveals that “bury a friend,” inspired the rest of the album.

“When we made ‘bury a friend,’ the whole album clicked in my head,” she says. “I immediately knew what it was going to be about, what the visuals were going to be, and everything in terms of how I wanted it to be perceived. It inspired what the album is about. ‘bury a friend’ is literally from the perspective of the monster under my bed. If you put yourself in that mindset, what is this creature doing or feeling?”

“I also confess that I’m this monster, because I’m my own worst enemy,” she continues. “I might be the monster under your bed too.”
