Billie Eilish shares somber new song, launches charity effort

Teen alt-pop sensation Billie Eilish just released her new single “when the party’s over” produced by her older brother and fellow musician FINNEAS. The track highlights Eilish’s somber and soulful vocals with minimalistic instrumentals.

At just age 16, Eilish has already gathered over 2.5 billion global streams for her award-winning tracks. Her recent singles “lovely” featuring Khalid and “you should see me in a crown” cracked Billboard’s Top 100. She continues to prove successful with her debut EP dont smile at me with her song “ocean eyes” being certified Platinum and with “bellyache” and “idontwannabeyouanymore” being certified Gold in North America.

She made her debut daytime television recently on The Ellen Show with “you should see me in a crown.” Unfortunately, there was no live spider in this set.

In addition to the new track, Eilish is launching “Billie’s Closet.” With her large, influential platform and love for fashion, every Wednesday at 12 p.m. PT/3 p.m. ET, she’ll be selling her personal clothing via her online merch store. All proceeds will be donated to Marley’s Mutts and their Pawsitive Change Prison Program.

The program matches shelter dogs with California inmates. The inmates will take 14 weeks to become accredited with a technical skill, while the dogs train to earn their Canine Good Citizen Certification. The plan is to foster commitments and build mutually beneficial human-animal relationships.

Beyond her charity work with animals, Eilish is setting the stage literally for political activism across younger generations. In an effort to get more California teens to register to vote, she campaigned at LAUSD high school for all 16-to-18-year-olds to preregister to vote. For students who host a voter registration event on or after Oct. 19, their school will be entered to win a Billie Eilish concert on their campus. More information about entering is available here.

2018 U.S. elections happen Nov. 6. Register to vote now at HeadCount.org. Early voting is already open in some states, which can be viewed here.
