Billie Eilish, YouTube Music partner for new mini-series launch
YouTube Music has announced a new original content mini-series geared towards allowing artists to creatively express themselves and engage with their fans. Partnering with Billie Eilish for the launch, the forthcoming series will team up with different artists for their own three-piece long series.

Mixing music with creative original content, this new mini-series will allow artists to connect with content creators and develop videos inspired by reaction videos, conversation-type videos, track-by-track explanations, etc.
"With our new short form mini-series, we’re sharing our creative playbook with artists; empowering them to produce a steady drumbeat of videos that provide an unprecedented look inside their lives, music, and projects in a format and tone that resonates and connects them with their massive global audience on YouTube," says YouTube's global head of business, Lyor Cohen.
Each mini-series will be 100% owned by the artists and their teams and will also appear on the artists' official YouTube channels.
Billie Eilish kicks off the new series, using hers as a way of bringing fans into the creative process behind different tracks from her upcoming album.
"The visual elements in my work have always been super important to me," says Eilish in a statement. "I’ve connected with so many of you over the years through my music videos on YouTube and thanks to them I now have the chance to make this mini-series for you all. It’s just so dope that I get to reveal even more of what goes on inside my head. Stuff that I've never shared before. I’m psyched for you all to see."
The first episode accompanies her recently released track "bury a friend" which you can watch below.
Billie Eilish gets a metal makeover
YouTuber Nik Nocturnal and Lauren Babic teamed up to create a metal cover of Eilish’s latest single off her upcoming album, and we're LIVING for it.
The cover is complete with killer guitar riffs and a bit of screaming into the mic, so we’re definitely vibing with it. It’s a switch from the original song, but we can see ourselves listening to both when we’re in different moods.
Check out the video of the cover for yourself below.
The song is from her debut album, out March 29. You can preorder a copy here. Check out the full tracklisting below.
- bad guy
- you should see me in a crown
- all the good girls go to hell
- wish you were gay
- when the party’s over
- my strange addiction
- bury a friend
- listen before I go
- I love you
Recently, Dave Grohl praised Eilish, comparing her fandom to that Nirvana experienced in the ‘90s.
