Black Panther nabbed a Best Picture nomination, making it the first superhero film to do so across 91 years of the Academy Awards. Plus, the movie snagged six other nods: Costume Design, Original Score, Original Song, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing and Production Design.

That should come as no surprise due to the trailblazer’s reception since hitting theaters in February 2018. With just a little over a month in theaters, it became the highest-grossing superhero film of all time by passing up previous record holder, The Avengers.

In nearly the same amount of time, it became the most tweeted about movie ever. In a month, users tweeted about the flick more than 35 million times, beating out previous record holders Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, which went to second and third place, respectively.

Now, Black Panther is returning to theaters for a short run next month ahead of the Oscars, which will take place Feb. 24 at 8:00 p.m.

All the screenings will be free in honor of Black History Month, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Plus, Disney will donate $1.5 million to the United Negro College Fund.

The film will be back on theaters from Feb. 1 to Feb. 7. at 250 participating AMC Theaters around the U.S. You can find the closest theater to you here. The website also lists the availability and lets you book the tickets. The passes are first come, first serve and there’s a limited waiting list. So, our tip is: Run to secure yours!

Black Panther’s sequel

A sequel to Black Panther could hit the big screen sooner than we think. While many of us aren’t surprised that the blockbuster is expected to release a Part Two, production could start as early as this year.

Director Ryan Coogler will write and direct the sequel, and production should start in either 2019 or 2020.

Marvel had supposedly confirmed the sequel back in March 2018. While he wouldn’t reveal any spoilers, Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige said that a sequel was “absolutely” going to happen.
