blink-182 use 2001 album to cure fans in resurfaced commercial
blink-182 may be hyping up their latest single and upcoming album, but for now, we’re going to take you back to a simpler time — 2001.
If you’re a die-hard blink fan like us, you’ll remember the days of Take Off Your Pants and Jacket where we blasted songs like “First Date” and “Anthem Part Two” on the way to the mall.
If you really have a good memory, you’ll remember the strange commercial the band made for the album that has recently resurfaced online.
“When my painful stomach acts up, I turn to the one product that’s scientifically proven to work — blink 182, now with 50 percent better songs,” the two say about their “product,” which is actually just a CD.
In case you forgot this existed, or just never saw it, you can watch the hilarious commercial below.
The commercial features the original trio with Travis Barker, which feels like another lifetime. However, DeLonge sent blink-182 fans into a frenzy with a recent interview about the future for the original gang.
“I get it—trust me, I love blink and it’s given me everything in my life,” DeLonge says. “And, you know, I plan on doing it in the future. But right now there’s just no way—I have way too much going on because Angels & Airwaves is a part of To The Stars, and that’s why it works.”
In other heartwarming blink news, Hoppus recently shared a nostalgic photo of the three original members on Instagram last week. The 1999 Polaroid photo depicts the three sporting t-shirts, sneakers and the longest shorts of all time.

As previously stated, blink-182 just dropped a new song “Blame It On My Youth,” which DeLonge praised.
“You’ll also see the new blink song [on Spotify],” DeLonge says. “I’m super excited for those guys. It’s cool to see the evolution of their music. You’ll also see Mark’s other band, Simple Creatures. It looks like a little bit of punk rock is seeping through on the national music lovers index.”
You can listen to “Blame It On My Youth” below.
blink-182 have a busy summer ahead of them including a confirmed appearance at Warped Tour‘s 25th anniversary stop in Atlantic City (for which more tickets were just released). They also promised a return to Riot Fest this year after having to cancel last year’s set.
