blink-182 dropping “at least two more songs” before tour, Mark Hoppus says

Before blink-182 head out on tour this summer, they’re planning to drop some new tunes.

Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus did an interview with Alt 98.7 where they discussed their plans for the upcoming tour dates as well as their new album.

During the interview, Hoppus is asked whether any new songs will be played live on their tour and he revealed some big news. The band will be releasing at least two new songs before the tour begins.

“Absolutely. Before we leave for tour there are at least two more songs coming out and as more songs get released we’ll probably incorporate those into the set,” says Hoppus.

He also explained why blink-182 won’t be playing new material until it’s been publicly released.

“Generally we don’t like to play songs that aren’t out in the world yet because when I especially go to a show I want to sing along. When a band’s like ‘here’s a new song you haven’t heard yet,’ people are kind of like, interested but it kind of craters the whole set because everyone stops and listens and people just want to go and sing along and rock out and have fun.”
