Hear blink-182 team up with Oliver Tree to rework “Let Me Down”

Oliver Tree has enlisted the help of blink-182 for his new reworked version of “Let Me Down.”

The original song is off of his debut album Ugly Is Beautiful, out now via Atlantic Records.

On July 17, Tree released his debut album Ugly Is Beautiful. Since its release a week ago, the LP is already making history. The album debuted as the No.1 Alternative Album on iTunes and Apple Music. It also debuted in the 10 albums list overall on iTunes.

Now, Tree is celebrating the album’s success with a brand new collaboration. On July 24, he unveiled a reworked version of his song “Let Me Down.” On the new song, he is joined by blink-182, a group Tree calls his “childhood heroes.”

“MY CHILDHOOD HEROES BLINK 182 GOT ON MY SONG ‘LET ME DOWN,’ ITS OUT TOMORROW,” he tweets.

Mark Hoppus’ bassline is featured throughout while his vocals appear during the song’s second verse and bridge. Travis Barker adds in his signature drumming which gives “Let Me Down” that well-known blink-182 feel. Matt Skiba‘s guitar further infuses blink’s punk rock sound into the new song.

“Let Me Down” is one of blink-182’s recent collaborations over the past few months. The band recently teamed up with Powfu and Beabadoobee for a remix of “Death Bed (Coffee For Your Head).” Hoppus also joined forces with Super Whatevr for their song “Carhartts & Converse.”

As well, Barker has been working alongside Machine Gun Kelly for his forthcoming album Tickets To My Downfall. Barker produced the album and is featured on MGK’s forthcoming song “Concert For Aliens” that is due out on Aug. 5. It is also rumored that both Barker and MGK may have a Halsey collab in the works.

Barker also revealed that blink-182 have a collaboration with late rapper Juice WRLD. The collab was originally supposed to appear on their 2019 album NINE. Now, the drummer says the song will be released soon. blink-182 are also planning to release a new EP by the end of the summer.
