Blink-182's 'California' certified Gold

Congrats to Blink-182! The band's recent album California has been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association Of America, along with another Gold record for that album's lead single, “Bored To Death.” The means both the 2016 full-length and its first single have moved over 500,000 units.

As noted by Headline Planet, the RIAA issued the awards on Wednesday, Dec. 6. The LP and single were hugely popular upon release—California debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 when it dropped on July 1, 2016, and “Bored To Death” hit No. 1 at alternative radio and No. 85 on the Hot 100.

How does this stack up to past Blink-182 releases? According to the RIAA's database, the most previous Blink certification was a Gold record for “Feeling This,” awarded on Aug. 30, 2005. The last album cert for the group was when their 2003 self-titled LP (or the “untitled” album) hit Platinum.
