Brand New aiming to release either EP or LP this year

Brand New frontman Jesse Lacey recently spoke with Spanish magazine Rockzone. The twist? (You had to have known something was coming.) The interview is actually written in Spanish. So, as you can imagine, the internet is furiously attempting to translate it. A rough transcribing of a segment where Lacey touches on when the band will release new material can be read below. (Spoiler alert: Even when we get an answer, we're only left with more questions.)

If you're a Brand New fan, the first half of 2015 has been like Christmas for you. But in case you've been living under a rock lately (well, you picked a pretty bad time to live under a rock), catch up on all the recent Brand New-related activity in one convenient location.

Yes, I have no problem talking about this with you. You're the first person with whom I have an interview in a while. We have a new album to get. There is no secret. The thing is that it is not ready, so to speak. Hopefully it out this year, at least that is our aim. We do not know whether it will be an EP of seven songs or so, or the traditional LP of 14 songs. We have many songs that we've been working, but hey, I guess sometimes you have to face what you have steeping a little, as I said before. Is something that we have to adapt, one day seems that we will get and the next we were a little farther out.
