Brawl erupts between Citizen, security and fans during San Diego show
According to various reports flooding in from social networks, a brawl between Citizen and security erupted during the band's set tonight at the House Of Blues in San Diego. While nothing concrete has surfaced as of yet, it looks as though venue security were aggressively dealing with members of the crowd and Citizen frontman Mat Kerekes intervened. Watch three fan-shot videos of the debacle:
Citizen tweeted this after the show had ended:
We're sorry San Diego. Violence is never the answer when the job is to keep people secure. (Grown men, keep your hands off of young kids.)
— Citizen (@CitizenMi) September 21, 2014
They then followed with this a few hours later:
There is a right and a wrong way to handle everything. When push came to shove, the kids and venue showed their sensibility..

The offending security was dealt with accordingly. No violence. No compromise. You chose the right- Thanks for everything. xo
