Brendon Urie wants to take his Broadway talents to London
After his star turn on Broadway in Cyndi Lauper‘s Kinky Boots, Panic! At The Disco mastermind Brendon Urie wants to take his killer knack for theatrical performance and apply it to a stage show on London’s famous West End.

Could Urie hack it as a thespian across the pond? The musician and actor says he’d be thrilled to take a role in jolly old England. However, he notes his preference for a part that’s rooted in the more familiar vernacular from back home.
“I would love to do the West End, but only if I play an American,” he told the BBC‘s Newsbeat before P!ATD’s headlining set at this year’s Reading and Leeds festivals. “I wouldn’t want to butcher their language in front of them.”
Not that Urie can’t hold his own in the dialect department. The performer had to don a distinctive Northampton-style accent for his portrayal of Charlie Price in Kinky Boots, per the BBC. And it’s a role he says he was more than happy to get.
“For me to be invited to be on the show is kind of surreal because I don’t consider myself an actor by any means,” Urie says. Aw, come on Brendon, you’re a wonderful actor! You think they give those sparkly red boots to just anyone?
