Butch Walker documentary to see limited theatrical release, accompanying live performances

Out Of Focus, the documentary film centered around musician and producer Butch Walker, which initially premiered at the Nashville Film Festival in the spring of 2012, will finally see a limited theatrical run, accompanied in each city by an intimate nearby performance from Walker.

Directed by Peter Harding and Shane Valdes, the documentary was filmed over the period of a year, and examines both Walker's personal life and his influential career. Check out the official trailer below:

More than a year after its initial festival debut, Butch has provided the following message, via Facebook, on the film's upcoming release:

“FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY….

Ok, so you know this little Documentary movie that we told you about a hundred years ago called “Out Of Focus” that these dudes Peter and Shane did on yours truly? FINALLY it is coming to select theaters and Networks! the exact theaters and times are coming soon, but immediately following the film, I WILL BE PLAYING A FULL SHOW DOWN THE STREET AFTER! I’m greasing up the guitars and getting ready to come blast you with a full show of love and song the same night that you can see the film… and if that isn’t enough of me in one night to last you a year then i don’t know what is.

I LOVE TOURING. I LOVE YOU. I LOVE LAMP.

Butch”

Even if you're unfamiliar with his solo music (which, on recent releases, has been credited as Butch Walker And The Black Widows), you almost certainly have felt Butch Walker's influence. The prolific songwriter and producer has worked with bands such as The Academy Is…, The Maine, Weezer, Bowling For Soup, Simple Plan, Never Shout Never, Dashboard Confessional, and even Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, among many, many others. Most recently, Butch produced both Fall Out Boy's Save Rock And Roll (in secret) and Panic! At The Disco's just-announced upcoming album, Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die!
