Butch Walker to tap local openers for 'Out Of Focus' performances; doc screening locations announced

Butch Walker has announced his intention to find local up and coming acts to open for four of his seven Out Of Focus tour dates this fall.

In a blog post on his site, Walker detailed the story of Lauren Staley, singer of The Whiskey Gentry, who formerly opened for Butch after winning a radio-sponsored fan contest, and has since gone on to achieve success- and will also open for three of Walker's fall dates. The singer wants to do something similar on his upcoming tour, and afford local acts the opportunity to gain exposure by opening in their hometown. Directions for artist submission are available here, and Walker asks that only the artists themselves, rather than fans, submit to perform.

Announced last month, Butch will screen a documentary about his life and career, Out Of Focus, in each city, before performing an intimate show at a nearby venue.

Below, you can find all performance locations, along with the documentary screening locations announced so far. Tickets for screenings and performances are separate, and can be purchased here.
