Cane Hill vocalist shuts down anti-LGBTQ comments: “We don’t want you”

Cane Hill vocalist Elijah Witt went off on an Instagram user who was combating the band’s ideals regarding equality for LGBT folks.

In a series of comments on a photo of Witt holding a mug that says, “Making Marriage Great Again,” one user lashed out against LGBT community parades and other pride-related forms of expression.

“Fuck all this LGBTQ FAG shit,” Instagram user bigbadjohn226 says. “And fuck those stupid ass gay pride parades. If they wanna make an impact then they should just dress normally instead of dressing like freaks from the fucking circus. They’re working against themselves and they’re accomplishing the opposite of what they want because it’s fucking weird. If they wanna make an impact then they should just dress normally.”

However, Witt was not about to have that kind of speech on his profile.

“If you feel this way, don’t support me or my band,” Witt says. “Do me a favor and go let your remaining brain cells leak out onto the floor and don’t come back.”

The user then went on to defend his comment, claiming the LGBT’s community’s approach to pride is affecting “people who are confused about their sexuality.”

“You clearly didn’t get what I was saying dumbass,” the user says. “In today’s society, we have to keep hearing about this shit especially where I’m from. They talk about this shit constantly. They shouldn’t push it so much because it’s not normal and it can influence people the wrong way who are confused about their sexuality. Got it dimwit?”

Of course, the discourse ensued on the post, with Witt firing back once again.

“John, you’re an idiot,” Witt continues. “Homosexuality isn’t a disease or a lifestyle that can infect or be pushed. It’s a sexuality. How are you this stupid?”
