The Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s Phase Three came to a close with the Russo BrothersInfinity War and Endgame. As we saw in the latter film, the fanbase was forced to say goodbye to some beloved heroes.

Despite its box office success, however, Endgame isn’t completely perfect. In fact, fans have now brought to light a major goof that happened in the film that some may have missed. This particular goof is related to Chris Evans Captain America and his infamous shield.

In the third act of Endgame, Thanos is resurrected in the time heist and brings his army to seize the Avengers Compound in the present. Captain America then battles Thanos before the infamous portals sequence. During the battle, Captain America’s Vibranium shield is broken in half. However, in a later shot with the portals, his shield seems to have miraculous been repaired.

As a film that required a lot of visual effects, it’s interesting that this minor detail was completely overlooked. Nevertheless, it’s taken Avengers fans over a year to notice the mistake.

Although the franchise isn’t getting any flack for the editing error, Marvel did recently come under fire. Last month, #MarvelIsOverParty began trending on Twitter for a number of reasons.

Some believe the hashtag may have started over reports that the highly-awaited Black Widow isn’t getting a theatrical release. Rumors emerged that the film could be heading to Disney+ after facing various delays amid the coronavirus pandemic. As well, other fans think the trending hashtag had to do with Marvel pairing with Fortnite.

Along with this, Marvel is sorting plans for Black Panther 2 following the sudden passing of Chadwick Boseman. According to reports, the company is grieving and using the time to pay tribute to Boseman. Both Disney and Marvel are also re-evaluating Black Panther 2 and how the billion-dollar franchise will forge ahead without its star.

The Hollywood Reporter suggests that Disney has several options for Black Panther 2. The company could replace Boseman, a move that would likely generate a mass outcry from fans. Another option is to make T’Challa’s sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) the new Black Panther.
