One superhero fan has broken the Guinness World Record for most times seeing the same movie in theaters, according to Wisconsin news outlet WSAW. Steve Ruppel went and saw Captain Marvel 116 times (and counting), even despite only needing to see it 104 to break the current record.

According to WSAW, Ruppel went the extra mile to ensure he stays at the top for quite some time.

To achieve this daunting task, Ruppel actually had to take time off of work and employ long lunch breaks. In seeing Captain Marvel 116 times, Ruppel spent a minimum of 14,268 minutes in the theater.

“I love superhero movies, and so this was a pretty good fit,” Ruppel says while explaining why he chose Captain Marvel. “I knew it was going to be around for awhile, and I thought it would probably be a good choice for this particular record. Looking back on it now, I might almost consider a Disney movie, because they’re usually shorter and probably around for awhile, but that singing would drive me crazy. It really would.”

Additionally, Ruppel says he had to abide by specific rules set forth by the Guinness Book Of World Records.

“To be official, I have to have certain pictures taken, like in front of a movie poster, and I need to have two written witness statements saying that I was actually there,” Ruppel says. “So I’m trying to think, if anyone wanted to break this, I really don’t want to re-break it. ‘Cause this has been pretty tough. It’s been a finite amount of time, but I don’t think I'm going to try this one again.”

Believe it or not, this isn't Ruppel’s first world record. He has actually achieved four others including completing a half marathon while wearing the most t-shirts and holding the fastest time to drink a liter of gravy, according to UPI
