This “Hey There Delilah” tweet just went viral thanks to Cardi B

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's new collaboration "WAP" has taken over the internet since its release last week. The single's video has earned over 70 million views in just four days and has also been at the center of some controversy.

This week, Cardi B showed her approval for a recent "WAP" tweet that has since gone viral. Carson Pace, the vocalist for metalcore band Callous Daoboys, recently shared a tweet referencing both "Hey There Delilah" by the Plain White T's and "WAP."

For those that didn't know, the NSFW "WAP" song title actually stands for "wet ass pussy." Pace decided to take the real meaning of the single's title and combine it with the Plain White T's iconic song "Hey There Delilah." He shared the tweet on Aug. 7.

In fact, his band Callous Daoboys say that they saw an increase in merch sales since the tweet went viral this week.

"WAP" has been at the center of some controversy since its release. Some fans are angry about Kylie Jenner's cameo in the video and have started a petition to have her removed. The petition has already earned over 68,000 signatures.

As well, Tiger King star Carole Baskin is criticizing the video's "abusive" scenes with wildcats. Even though Baskin wasn’t present on the video shoot, she says that the scenes featuring these cats could not have been captured organically. This means that “big cat pimps” were likely used for the video shoot.
