Fans were shocked to learn that Netflix had canceled Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina earlier this month. Since the news broke, Netflix has not revealed why the series is canceled. Sabrina was originally in the works for The CW before moving to Netflix with a two-part, 20 episode order. Netflix then renewed the series for part three and four shortly after the first installment aired in 2018.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa released a statement regarding the cancelation where he thanks the cast, the show's star Kiernan Shipka and everyone involved.

“Working on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been an incredible honor from day one,” he says. “The cast, beginning with Kiernan as everyone’s favorite teen witch, has been an absolute joy. I am beyond thankful to the crew, writers, editors, assistants, and everyone for pouring so much love into this dark dream of a show. I’m also grateful to our partners at Netflix, Warner Bros., Berlanti Television and Archie Comics for letting us tell the story we wanted to tell, the way we wanted to tell it. We can’t wait for everyone to see part four.”

As well, fans of the show have even started a petition to bring back the series. So far, it has over 180,000 signatures.

The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina's part four is set to air on Netflix later this year. However, following the new episodes, the series no longer has a streaming platform to call home.

Now, it is being reported that Sabrina could be heading to HBO Max. According to We Got This Covered, a source reveals that the show is in talks to head to the streaming platform. Warner Bros. is using HBO Max to boost a lot of its content and since Sabrina is property of Warner Bros., a move to the streaming service makes sense.

However, fans shouldn't expect an official announcement anytime soon. If the news is true, it's likely no confirmation will be made until after Sabrina's final episodes air on Netflix.

Along with Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, another Riverdale spinoff is canceled. Katy Keene, starring Lucy Hale, lasted one season before getting the ax. The series is also reportedly looking for a new streaming platform. Since the show is in a streaming deal with HBO Max, Katy Keene may find a permanent home there.

Riverdale is still airing on The CW. The show was recently renewed for a fifth season. However, no information on when it will air has been shared.
