Code Orange share moody trip-hop song “Mirror”

Following their massive grunge anthem “Take Shape,” which featured the Smashing Pumpkins luminary Billy Corgan, Code Orange are back with another unpredictable track called “Mirror.”

The Pittsburgh band’s latest offering from their forthcoming album, The Above (out Sept. 29), is one of the biggest left turns they’ve ever taken; a moody, elastic trip-hop track with mournful strings, delicate piano, and a blowout vocal performance from Reba Meyers that’s by far the most tuneful hook Code Orange have ever delivered.

“This song has a special place in my heart,” Meyers says. “To me, it’s the climax of this style of my writing in this band thus far. Take a look in the mirror, are you bored?”

It’s a totally fresh direction for the hardcore bruisers, and we’re more than here for it. See the playful, quixotic, stop-motion music video below.
