Coheed And Cambria bassist Michael Todd arraigned on robbery, drug charges

Coheed And Cambria bassist Michael Todd, who was arrested on Sunday after robbing a Massachusetts Walgreens, was arraigned yesterday on charges of armed robbery and drug possession.

According to the Boston Globe, Todd plead not guilty in Attleboro (Massachusetts) District Court through his attorney, Sandra Ferreira. Judge Dan O’Shea held Todd on $25,000 cash bail; a preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 9.

Early Sunday afternoon—hours before Coheed And Cambria opened for Soundgarden at the Comcast Center—Todd allegedly entered the drugstore and demanded OxyContin. Citing court records, the Globe article notes, “the 30-year-old from New York showed the pharmacist a note on the screen of his smartphone that said that he had a bomb and wanted her to give him the narcotic.”

The pharmacist ended up giving him “several bottles of oxycodone,” the Globe says, and he allegedly left the scene in a taxi. He was apprehended at the band’s tour bus at the venue.

Coheed And Cambria are finishing out their tour dates with Wes Styles filling in on bass.
